ThinkAlike App

ThinkAlike App

Background

ThinkAlike was a very small startup with just two partners who had a vision of building an iPhone app for fans to connect and be in touch with celebrities, idols and favorite brands.

After user interviews and evaluative testing, we learned users wanted to feel a deeper sense of connection not just with their idols, but others who thought alike. We integrated features such as direct messaging to facilitate this need.

Process

Understanding the business and user goals, what the client considers a success and failure and the competitive landscape is always the first step I take in any project.

The client came to us with a visually designed prototype from another agency. It had not been shown and tested with users so I wanted to evaluate the usability and concept before we dove into any other work.

Brainstorming

After gathering insights from the usability tests, I collaborated with my team members to brainstorm and sketch ideas for the results screen, explore different voting UIs and interactions. I then took those ideas, refined them in my sketches, wrote user scenarios and created wireframes for a quick prototype.

Branding

We researched the social app landscape, defined adjectives that represented ThinkAlike and explored three visual themes that embodied a refined, clean and stylish feel.
